Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Colorado and east central Colorado,
including the following areas, in central Colorado, Fremont
County, Pikes Peak above 11000 feet, and Teller County and the
Rampart Range. In east central Colorado... El Paso County.

* Through this evening

* increased moisture and slow moving thunderstorms will bring
the risk of flash flooding on area burn scars and urban areas,
especially chateau and Hayden Pass burn scars. The Colorado
Springs area and Waldo burn scar could also be impact should a
stronger storm impact these areas.

* Dangerous flash flooding and debris flows will be possible in
and near active or recent burn scars. Heavy rain in urban
areas may quickly overwhelm drainage systems.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
