Wind Chill Advisory
Issued: 9:15 AM AKST Dec. 10, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Wind Chill Advisory in effect until 3 PM akst Tuesday...

* what... very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills will
cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
Expect wind chills of around 50 below zero through early
evening, then expect wind chills of 50 below zero to 55 below
zero tonight into Tuesday.

* Where... western Arctic coast from Point Lay southward.

* When... 11 am this morning to 3 PM Tuesday.

* Additional details... expect wind chills to be around 50 below
zero with the winds of 15 to 25 mph through early evening.
However, wind chills will drop to 50 below zero and 55 below
zero tonight into Tuesday. Expect the coldest wind chill
temperatures after midnight tonight into Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and sustained wind
speeds of 15 mph or more will create low wind chills. Frost bite
and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken.
