.AVIATION...
An area of low clouds (ceilings around 1,000 to 1,500 ft) over
eastern Kansas may affect KPNC and vicnity this morning.
Otherwise, expect generally full VFR conditions through late
tonight. Winds will shift gradually from mainly northerly this
morning, around to northeast to east this afternoon, then remain
fairly steady until late tonight. A developing cold front will
shift winds slightly around to the northeast, with somewhat
increased speeds toward sunrise Sunday, and low clouds will begin
to fill in across the region. The clouds should form first in
northern Oklahoma and north Texas, then fill in in-between during
the morning on Sunday.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 323 AM CST Sat Dec 14 2019/

DISCUSSION...
Fog will persist early this morning in south central and
southeastern OK where wind is light. This will be short-lived as a
cold front will pass through this area not long after daybreak
with northwest wind and an initial rise in temperatures. The
airmass behind this front will be slow to move into OK today with
relatively light north wind backing to east while a surface low
pressure develops over northeastern NM. This is in response to
increasing zonal flow with very minor waves ahead of the slightly
stronger (but still rather meager) short-wave trough that will
bring modest lift resulting in low pops for mixed precipitation
over northern Oklahoma later Sunday and early Monday. Colder air
moves in Sunday with a chance that any light amounts of freezing
drizzle or light freezing rain that may occur near the KS border
may turn to light snow before ending Monday morning. Trends in
this system continue to slightly diminish its impact for Oklahoma
as it passes. Monday will be the coldest day over the next 7 after
which a modest warm-up begins with little chance for precipitation
the rest of next week.
