Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Norman OK
320 am CDT Mon Jul 22 2019

a few Post-frontal showers continue over central OK early this
morning. These will shift southward through the morning but
generally expect dry conditions. Stratus is also expanding behind
the front over northern OK currently and will also spread
southward throughout the day. This, in addition to caa, will keep
temps much cooler than yesterday with highs only making it into
the mid to upper 80s for most locations. Skies will clear from
north to south by this afternoon and evening.

The cool trend will continue over the next several days as a
surface high lingers over the central Continental U.S.. dewpoints should drop
into the 50s area wide by Wed morning under clear skies and light
winds. This will allow morning temps to drop to record lows. In
fact, the forecast for okc now is one degree colder than the
record (61). Warmer conditions will develop by Thu and continue
into the weekend. By this time, we'll be on the eastern fringe of
the upper ridge. A mid to upper shortwave is expected to round
this ridge late Fri-Sat and it appears there's enough moisture
progged right now to include some schcs west of I-35, mainly over
northwestern OK. These could expand eastward too but confidence
not quite high enough to include in the grids.
