for 06z tafs.

Near term...(tonight)
issued at 741 PM CDT Wed Sep 18 2019

Quiet conditions across the Tennessee Valley with high pressure in
control of the weather across the southeastern United States. A
"back door" cold front will continue to push west from the Carolinas
into Georgia overnight. While this feature should remain east of the
area, we may be a gradual uptick in cloud cover, especially across
northeast Alabama after midnight. However, overall, a mostly clear
sky and light winds will once again allow for good radiational
cooling as lows bottom out in the mid 60s to around 70 degrees once

Short term...(thursday through friday)
issued at 240 PM CDT Wed Sep 18 2019

Thursday and Friday look to be quite a bit cooler with highs in the
80s to around 90 degrees. The coolest day looks to be on Friday, due
to continued cold air advection. Highs in the lower to mid 80s look
to be in store on Friday. It will remain dry with high pressure
firmly in place.

Long term...(friday night through tuesday)
issued at 240 PM CDT Wed Sep 18 2019

Temperatures should begin to climb again Friday night into the
weekend, as high pressure builds directly over Alabama and Georgia.
A more moist environment should return, as southwest flow advects
more moisture into the region. As a frontal boundary moves into
southern middle Tennessee Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, isolated
showers or thunderstorms look possible in the afternoon. Highs should
rebound into the lower 90s during this period as well.

issued at 1212 am CDT Thu Sep 19 2019

With strong high pressure layered across the mid/srn Atlantic states,
VFR conds are xpcted thru the taf period. Sfc winds are xpcted to
turn more southeast near 10kt Thu morning.
