Short term /today through Monday/...
all in all, it looks like a quiet short term period is in store.

Surface high pressure along the eastern U.S. And Seaboard along
with upper level ridging, will keep significant convection to a
minimum. With some leftover moisture and limited instability
across the area, you can not rule out some isolated storms today,
most likely over the NE mountains. After today, no significant
rain chances are expected through Monday.

Forecast high temperatures are running about 5 to 12 degrees above
normal across the area today and a degree or two warmer on Monday.
Forecast low temperatures are running about 3 to 10 degrees above
normal for tonight.

Overall confidence is high.

Long term /Monday night through Saturday/...
long range models are in good agreement as far as main features
impacting southeast through the week. Upper level ridging will
dominate, keeping a dry forecast. Temperatures will remain 10+
degrees above normal to start the long term period, with a cool
down noted as cold air damming sets up Wednesday and Thursday.
This cool down will simply bring temperatures back to near normal
for this time of year. By weeks end, with a surface high centered
over the forecast area temperatures will again warm to above
normal.
